ways to give

Cash Gifts

Cash gifts are the easiest kind of gift you can make. Credit/debit card transactions, and EFTs can be done here, or you can write a check payable to Westside Christian Academy. Please mail checks to Westside Christian Academy, Attention: Philanthropy Office, 23096 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH 44145

Matching Gifts

Matching gifts can double or even triple the value of your gift. Many employers match gifts made to non-profits by their employees and retirees. To learn if your company matches gifts, please contact your company’s Human Resources Department.

Gifts of Securities

Gifts of securities offer significant tax advantages to the donor. By making a gift of this type, the donor can take a tax deduction for the full market value of the securities while avoiding capital gains taxes. Please contact Wes Moore, our Director of Philanthropy, at wmoore@westsideacademy.org for our preferred account information.

Qualified Charitable Distributions

This provision allows retirees age 70 1/2 and older to donate up to $100,000 tax-free from their IRA to a charitable organization, including WCA.

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts are deferred gifts made in a donor’s estate plans. Sample language to use when making your estate plans is available here.

Gifts in Kind

In-kind gifts are contributions of tangible items that the school would otherwise have to purchase. Examples of in-kind gifts donated to WCA have included works of art, athletic equipment and uniforms, musical instruments, and other school supplies.

Ohio’s Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) Tax Credit

The state of Ohio’s Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) tax credit authorizes Ohio donors who contribute to K-12 student scholarships through a certified SGO to receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction in their state taxes, up to $750 per individual taxpayer. WCA partners with the Ohio Christian Education Network’s SGO to provide students with much-needed scholarships and donors with an Ohio tax credit. For more information and to give to the SGO, click here.

For more information on any of these giving methods or to discuss other giving options, please contact Wes Moore, Director of Philanthropy
