Backyard Biology Camp

Discover some of the amazing plants and animals living in and around your backyard! Explore the nature trails of WCA, hunt for insects, go on a mammal scavenger hunt, and enjoy the sounds of a bird symphony. Conduct plant experiments and dissect local vegetables. Scientific drawings and field notes will be part of this adventurous hands-on science camp.

Drama Camp

A great introduction to drama and stage performance is being offered this summer! This camp combines the classical education skills of diction, rhetoric, and vocal projection with the skills of eye-to-eye communication, characterization, body control, ownership of lines, and the basics of stage performance. This camp is an awesome experience for budding thespians in the 1st – 3rd grade who want to develop their speaking and performance abilities.

Kindergarten Bootcamp

Let’s get ready for Kindergarten together! This week-long camp will prepare your child for their transition to kindergarten in a relaxed and engaging environment. Your child’s development will be nurtured through sing-alongs, hands-on activities, crafts, outdoor explorations, read-alouds, and more! These activities will provide opportunities for your child to grow in social development, number sense, shape recognition, motor skills, and pre-literacy skills. Campers will receive an official kindergarten bootcamp readiness certificate, nature scavenger hunt kit, and will also bring home various crafts made during camp.

Connecting with American Sign Language Camp

Grades: 4th – 12th

Days / Dates: July 18-22
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This fun and engaging camp will enhance the American Sign Language skills of students 4th – 12th grade through crafts, special experiences, and kinesthetic games. Interact and communicate with guest members of the deaf community in this unique camp experience. Upon completion of the camp, students will receive a special ASL item to take home with them. This is a perfect enrichment experience for students who have studied ASL and want to improve their communication skills in sign language.

Filmography

This seminar guides upper school students through the entire filmmaking and video editing process in just five days! All students write, direct, film, and edit one film of their own and work as crew on another project. Thus, this seminar provides each student with the opportunity to work as a Director of Photography, Sound Technician, and/or Production Assistant. Also included in this filmography seminar is a brief overview of filming, video editing, and production related career paths.

Nature Education

This camp is focused on nature education and provides students with the opportunity to become more aware of the wonders of God’s creation. Through hands-on experiences, students will develop their observational skills in the outdoor classroom environment. Collections, classifications, nature crafts, and scientific drawings will be part of this camp’s daily experience. Guest speakers, botany, biology, and nature observations are the focus of this week of nature exploration.

The Volleyball Basics Clinic is designed for students to learn and develop their fundamental volleyball skills in a supportive, fun, and positive environment. This clinic welcomes students with all ranges of skills, abilities, and experience. Points of emphasis will include: Daily sports-oriented devotional and prayer time, games, drills, and activities that target the fundamentals of volleyball, age-appropriate opportunities for modified game play each day, and quality individual instruction and performance feedback for each student. This camp offers quality athletic instruction and personal attention that will help instill personal confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

Mr. Piazza has planned an amazing all-day sports camp for an activity rich and fun-filled week of Soccer, Basketball, Floor Hockey, Handball, Golf, Cornhole, Darts, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, High Jump, Shot Put, Bowling, Baseball, Gaga Ball Tournament, Gymnastics, Spike Ball and Trail Races. This will be an unforgettable week of sports, games, tournaments, Nerf Wars, awards, ice cream, and water balloons.
