American Sign Language Fun with Friends Camp – full

This fun and engaging camp will teach American Sign Language through crafts, special experiences, and kinesthetic games. Parents are welcomed to attend this camp and to learn ASL along with their student. Upon the completion of the camp, students will receive a special ASL item to take home with them.

Drama Camp

Grades: 4th – 6th

A great introduction to theater is being offered this summer! Introduction to Theater Camp combines the classical education skills of diction, rhetoric, and vocal projection with the skills of eye-to-eye communication, characterization, body control, ownership of lines, and the basics of stage performance. This camp is an awesome experience for 4th – 6th graders who want to develop their speaking and performance abilities. It would also be a great preparation for the WCA drama auditions next year!

Young Author’s Creative Writing Seminar – full

Grades: 5th – 12th

Days / Dates: July 11 – 15

Camp Instructor:  Dr. Wilhelm
Your student can be a self-published author this summer! This camp will lead students through the writing process of a children’s book. Character development, story plot, descriptive writing, proofreading, illustrating a story, and publishing a manuscript will be part of this creative writing camp. Students will produce an illustrated children’s book and even explore publication methods for their manuscript. At the end of the camp, a copy of each of the students’ literary manuscripts will be published and presented to the WCA library.

CHEERLEADING AND DANCE CAMP

GRADES: (GIRLS ONLY) GRADES 3RD – 6TH

TIME: 1:00 – 4:00 P.M.

All cheerleaders, baton girls, and dancers are welcome to attend this fun-filled week of learning some of the more advanced skills of cheerleading and dance! The focus of the camp will include cheers, chants, baton skills, jumps, tumbling, and learning a choreographed dance routine. Campers will enjoy fun with friends, interactive games, team building, and each participant will receive a twirling baton!

JR. CHEERLEADING AND DANCE CAMP – full

Little girls are welcome to attend this fun-filled week of learning all the essential skills of cheerleading and dance! The focus of the camp will include cheers, chants, motions, jumps, basic tumbling, and a choreographed dance routine. Campers will also enjoy fun games, team building, and making their own cheer bow.

A very creative summer awaits students who enroll in this year’s WCA Art Camp! The focus of this camp is to stretch young artists’ creativity and reinforce their understanding of the elements of art. Students will explore a variety of artists, art processes, and multiple textiles including drawing, painting, and even sculpting. Students’ artwork will reflect aspects of life as it relates to the world we live in. Students will also learn to define their artwork by developing an artist statement and being able to present their work in the context of a class critique. All art supplies required for this camp are included in the camp cost.

Let your student’s curiosity shine with this camp experience. Exciting outdoor explorations, delightful discoveries, and wild wonders await your student in this hands-on summer camp experience. Each day will focus on a different area of scientific inquiry. From botany and astronomy to zoology and human biology – this camp will provide young scientists opportunities to grow in their observational skills, take part in exciting dissection labs, and conduct field research. Each student will receive a field notebook for their scientific drawings.

This wonderful summer opportunity to study with the master teacher Mrs. Zeigler in a week-long studio art seminar is not to be missed. This creative experience is designed to allow for personalized art coaching and enhanced focus on a student’s creative expression in their art. Students are able to explore a variety of artists, art processes, and materials such as drawing, painting, printmaking, two & three-dimensional design, etc. All art supplies are included in the cost of this summer seminar.

Sports Camp I – Full

Grades: 5th-7th

Days / Dates: July 11 – 15
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $135

Mr. Piazza has planned an amazing all-day sports camp for an activity rich and fun-filled week of Soccer, Basketball, Floor Hockey, Handball, Volleyball, Golf, Cornhole, Darts, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, High Jump, Shot Put, Ping Pong, Baseball, Gaga Ball Tournament, Spike Ball, and Trail Races. This will be an unforgettable week of sports, games, tournaments, Nerf Wars, awards, ice cream, and water balloons.
